ELISA PAGANELLI
illustrator
All of Hal’s drawings, the illustrations in the Adventures On Trains books, and the stunning book covers are the wonderful work of artist and illustrator Elisa Paganelli.
This is what she says about herself: “I was born in Modena (Italy) in 1985, and since childhood I cannot resist the smell of paper and pencils. I attended the Institute of Art and subsequently graduated from the European Institute of Design (IED) in Turin with a degree in illustration. As a post-grad, I worked as Art director in a communication and advertising agency, and also ran a successful design concept store/studio for six years, which make me win the Ascom Confcommercio award “The idea becomes Enterprise” and CNA “Emerging Women” award. I now collaborates as freelance designer with publishers and advertising agencies all over the world from my home-office in UK, accompanied by my five pets. I devote most of the time to my passion for images and words and my introspective and artistic research never stops. I'm passionate about psychology and philosophy and over the years this interest took me close to the oriental culture and Zen Buddhism, which had a strong impact also on my work. In my spare time I love to experiment new techniques such as linocut printmaking, paper carving, pyrography. I love quietness and I feel home when I'm in wild nature.”
